Haarlem’s Station Living Room is resplendent in its former glory.

A Station Living Room That Radiates Historic Grandeur
In the monumental station building of Haarlem, an exceptional Station Living Room was recently opened.
Not just a place to sit or work, but a space that breathes history — while offering the comfort and functionality today’s traveler expects.
For NS, Redie created a tailor-made interior with a deep respect for the unique context of this location: a fully renovated former restaurant space within Haarlem’s historic station.
Where Redie usually applies its modular Station Living Room concept, a conscious choice was made here for an interior with classical details, in harmony with the grandeur of the building.
The Station Living Room in Haarlem is housed in a listed building — a former restaurant that has been lovingly restored. The authentic herringbone floor, beamed ceiling, and original chandeliers are once again visible.
From a custom-designed counter with paneling and rounded corners to elegant swing doors, a wooden pergola, and planters that break up the high space — every element contributes to a unique experience that enhances the historic atmosphere.
The architectural renovation was carried out in collaboration with Van Wijnen Deventer, ensuring the interior design perfectly complements the restored state of the building.
The result is a Station Living Room that is not only recognizable and functional, but also honors its location. A space where old and new blend seamlessly.
