In 2003, Grillcafé de Buffel was created in the building of the former hotel-restaurant Heidelust in Best and with success. The restaurant could count on a large circle of regular guests, and passers-by and companies also managed to find their way. In 2020 it was time for a new step for owners Emmy and Koen. A city café, but in a village and in a unique building right in the center of Best, built by contractor Fried van de Laar.

Due to the characteristic design and construction of the building, this building with apartments above fits perfectly on the village square.

First of all, an inventory was made with Emmy and Koen of all wishes and requirements. A 'journey' that we have taken together and in which we have continued to detail the composition and execution of the interior. The design of the building, the routing, logistics, working methods and layouts were considered when it comes to the various activities, functions and atmospheres that Emmy and Koen wanted to create.

The materialization and details of the interior have been carefully created. We explicitly looked at the experience that the client wants to give to the guests, who come here for a visit to the terrace with a cup of coffee, lunch, dinner or a pleasant evening drink.

The combination of the different materials and applications in combination form a real statement; the steel bench in front of the window, the steel construction on the bar that extends to the chefs table in the restaurant, the steel bases with solid oak tops (which have been treated with Wash by the team members of de Buffel in the production of Redie ) and the marble used in this project. The marble was selected together with the client.

The open kitchen and bar are central to the interior and the ideal layout and routing have been determined around this to enable an optimal working method for the employees in order to be able to serve the customers as well as possible.
